The requirements are basically simple. You must work within the music industry, whether you're a recording artist, songwriter, producer, record label owner or employees, musician (just to name a few).

You must have made special contributions to the Country Music industry.

You must be in the business at least 25 years, if still living to that point or afterward. Individuals who have made special contributions to country music, but could not fulfill the time limit required, shall be nominated, and inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, after that individual has received the winning votes to be inducted into the institution whether it be before or after 25 years of that individuals death.

Each year, the Country Music Association nominates individuals to be voted on and be inducted to the Country Music Hall of Fame. The nominations in a given year may range from 5 to 50 people. The one who receives the most votes goes into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Some years, you may have as many as 4 people be inducted to it.
