How does someone get there car out of impound if there license is suspended?

Simply contact the police dept. that arrested you.They will tell you who towed the vehicle. Depending on your local laws you may not be able to get your vehicle back.It could be seized and auctioned by your local goverment. Some states offer a free service online to search for your vehicle. Check out: https://secure.Utah.gov/ivs/ivs Not sure what state you are in but I'd bet there is something. Also like the first user stated, contact the police that arrested you.

∙ 12y agoYou pay the towing/storage fee and get your car! If you do not have a license, you take someone with you who does! This is assuming that your vehicle is not evidence and can legally be released to you.

In most states, nothing for the owner of the car except possibly having to retrieve their car from impound, but for the unlicensed driver it's a different story. The driver can be hauled off to jail until someone bails you out and pays your fine. They may just be ticketed or warned, depending on the officer.

However, if you fail a field sobriety test, he can make you take a cab home or have someone pick you up (and possibly impound your car), but he still has to give your license back. If a judge/court or DMV takes your license, then it is suspended for a set amount of days (90 days, 1 year, indefinitely for repeat offenders).
