Remove the driver's kick panel. There is a plastic screw with a cap behind the hood release lever. Pry off the cap with your fingernails and use a slotted screwdriver to back out the plastic screw. The fitting the screw sits in will then lift out. Pry up the driver's kick panel starting from the lower door edge. There will be three connectors visible, brown, blue and black. Unplug all three. Follow the wiring harness up toward the door hinge area. There is a plastic filler panel on the kick panel body side that is held in loosely by clips. The wiring harness threads through the hole the filler panel covers. Remove the panel. Once you've done that you can remove the body side rubber boot and gently thread the wiring harness out of the kick panel area.

Undo the three screws ( 1 inside of external mirror, 1 at door release lever, 1 at door close handle) and pull entire door panel off of frame. Disconnect wiring harness from main controls. Twist 2x white plastic locks on door release rods anti-clockwise and pull rods upwards.
You probably have a wire in the harness by the door hinges that is almost broken in two.
It should be by the drivers side door in between the door and the entrance. If you open your door look for a sticker it should be there.
You can replace the inside drivers door handle by removing the door panel. With the door panel removed the door handle mechanism will be visible. Remove the linkage from the door handle. Remove the door handle retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new door handle.
