No, the bass is actually a decendent of the viola da gamba or viol family while the violin decended from the vioa da braccio. The bass was altered to be more like the violin family but still retains it's tuning in 4th's rather than 5th's like the violin, viola and cello.
The double bass is much like the string bass, but it is also known as an upright bass, and commonly used in symphonies. It can be played with fingers, (pizzicato) but is usually played with a bow, like a violin. It looks like a big violin, and is played with the bottom of it, (opposite of where you tune the strings) at your feet, and the top around where your head is, while you are sitting down.
I'm going to assume you mean the range of notes. Keep in mind the bass is written an octave below where it actually sounds. The standard bass has 4 strings tuned to E, A, D and G. The standard bass guitar has the same range as that of a double bass - The low note is the E below the bass cleff staff (41.25 Hz) - and the high string is a G. The standard Fender design has 20 frets, making your high note the high Eb in the treble staff (written) which sounds an octave lower, which is the Eb above Middle C. A good bass player is capable of playing harmonics which extend the range of the instrument 2 to 3 octaves higher than that. Also, there are 5 strings basses which have a low B string (around 30 Hz) extending the range a fourth lower and 6 string basses that have a high C string - extending the range a 4th higher.
One ledger line below the treble clef staff, or one ledger line above the bass clef staff, or the middle line in alto clef, or the 4th line in tenor clef.

Ok .. I own a Yamaha YZF-R15. Shifting gears in Yamaha YZF-R15 is similar to all the Yamaha bikes. For the 1st Gear you need to press down. For the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th gears, you need to lift up. Its the traditional race model '1 down - 5 up' approach. Have Fun !

Any scale will have the same key signature in both the bass and treble clef. For A major, the key signature consists of F#, C#, and G#.To write the key signature:Treble Clef: the sharps correspond to the 1st and 3rd spaces, and the second line [F#, C#, and G#, respectively].Bass Clef: the sharps correspond to the 2nd and 4th spaces, and the 4th line [C#, G#, and F#, respectively).
