If you are right handed (I'm not sure if its different or not if ur left handed) you put ur left hand around the front of the Flute and ur right hand around the back. U purse ur lips and blow over the top of the flute. NOT into it like a recorder or a Clarinet. usually u learn the notes A, B and G first and then u can (try) to teach urself a few simple songs and progress from there. it also mite be helpful to start taking lessons if u are serious about it.
