Rap is the art of speaking quickly to background beats and rhythms, generally only one paerson is making the music and it tends to be quite short as it is not sustainable for long periods of time. Whereas other Music Genres tend to involve more than one person with other instruments in the background, it can be varied lengths and is made up of singers and instruments.

∙ 14y agoRap's got a bad rep, really. All of the most popular rappers go on and on about the same old stories about gangs, guns, and whores. When rap is good, like Gospel or just not violence-glorifying, then people start to get in with it.
Rap is also not considered "on par" with singing because vocal talent has the dimension of vocal pitch, where rap is talking. Rap is certainly more focused on its work with rhythm, so it compensates itself.
