Nuclear energy as it is used to generate power can be dangerous. The nuclear reactors used to heat water to generate steam to spin turbines to generate electricity must be operated by individuals who know what they are doing. If something goes wrong, the duty crew must make all the right decisions and make them first time, every time. Failure to do so can cause structural elements of the core to fail and release both nuclear fuel and waste into the coolant passages in the core. (The fuel rods are designed to hold everything inside throughout the life of the fuel bundle.) This is what happened at Three Mile Island. Both mechanical failure and the failure of the duty crew to react correctly caused a meltdown. Spent fuel presents its own special problems. Fuel bundles must be recovered from the reactor and taken away and stored for an extremely long period of time before radiation levels are low enough to try to do anything with them. Fission byproducts are highly radioactive, and remain so for tens of thousands of years. Links are provided for further reading.
There isn't any, for the most part. It is dangerous if you are positioned near nuclear or radioactive materials while being unprotected for a short to extended time is considered dangerous and could as well be dangerous. But to civilians on the outside, quite harmless. But when the plant goes through a meltdown, boom, it's dangerous.
104 operating Nuclear Power units
No, nuclear radiation has existed sense the first stars in the early universe began fusing hydrogen. Nuclear power is an industry created by man only in the early 1950s.
The Chernobyl Power Complex refers to the nuclear power plant that used to be in Chernobyl, Ukraine. It operated with four nuclear reactors to supply power to the region.
Nuclear fission has been used in nuclear bombs and is currently being used in every nuclear power plant on the earth.
Nuclear waste.
Nuclear power reactors are potentially dangerous, we have to make them safe by careful design and operation
yes but its extreamly dangerous
it can be very dangerous if not careful
All sorts of nuclear radiation are dangerous. To use nuclear power safely the radiation in the reactor core must not be allowed to escape. Provided this is achieved, it is a safe industry. The health records of those who work on nuclear sites proves this.
its dangerous
it is really, really dangerous and once the stuff to make the power has been used it can stay dangerous for hundreds of years!
Some think it is dangerous.
not really because a power plant is very dangerous and it can harm you.
It contains a higher amount of radioactivity
Bacause I know my fake president.if he reaches nuclear power,he can do anything...
A dangerous power source is one that has the potential to cause harm to individuals or the environment if not managed properly. This can include sources such as nuclear power, high-voltage electricity, or volatile chemicals. Proper safety measures and regulations are crucial to prevent accidents and mitigate risks associated with these power sources.
