I'm not sure what you mean by "weird sound", but I'm assuming you have a lot of spit in the horn, so much that it sounds like it's bubbling. The only way I have found to get spit out of a french horn is to keep rotating it clockwise until the spit comes out of the bell. either that or pull off all of the slides and pour the spit out of there.

The sound is produced by the vibrating lips of the player. The player presses his lips against the mouthpiece and blows to make his lips rattle. The mouthpiece is designed to facilitate this vibration, but it takes much practice to to build up strength in the lips and learn control of this vibration. The horn amplifies and controls the vibration by resonance. Columns of air in the horn resonate at the desired frequency and the valves determine the lengths of the columns or air. The bell on the horn helps focus and project the sound.

The french horn is a brass instrument. The sound of the horn can mix very nice with the sound of woodwind instruments. The horn is the only brass instrument that is used in the classical wind quintet, which consist of flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and horn. This quintet is sometimes referred to as "woodwind quintet", although the horn really is not a woodwind.
