To alter the pitch on a recorder to accord with other instruments, carefully adjust the first joint (the one nearest the fipple). Pulling it apart will lower the pitch.
The cheapest recorders are moulded in one piece from the top to just one note above the lowest; if you have one of these you can't tune it.
the recorder has a high pitch
The soprano recorder is pitched in C. Its lowest note is C5, the C above middle C on the piano. It is about a foot from the top of the mouthpiece to the bottom.
They are both high and low.If you don'y beleive me thats fine by me but they are high and low.
Yes the recorder is a musical instrument. Historically it is made out of wood. There are plastic versions as well. In either wood or plastic there are good models and there are terrible models. The name "recorder" is also used for any apparatus that is used to record a record of sound, activity, energy, etc... and some of these are the tape recorder, the voice recorder, or even earth quake movement recorder. The four types of recorders are the soprano recorder, alto recorder, tenor recorder, and bass recorder. Each type varies in size and pitch, with the soprano being the smallest and highest in pitch, while the bass is the largest and lowest. These recorders are commonly used in music education and ensembles.

To change the pitch of a recorder, you can cover or uncover the finger holes to alter the length of the air column inside the instrument. The more holes covered, the lower the pitch. To change the loudness, you can blow harder or softer into the instrument, controlling the intensity of the sound produced.
Sound can be altered by changing the amplitude, which affects the volume of the sound, or by changing the frequency, which affects the pitch of the sound. Additionally, sound can be altered by applying effects such as reverb or distortion.
Hi Troy - you could record a CD with the new pitch, but you'd need another CD recorder in order to do this. You can't change the pitch on the CD-A550 and simply "record it" - you have to send the output of the CD player to the input of another CD recorder, which means a separate piece of equipment. A wave gauge or wave recorder is the tool used to determine pitch in waves. It measures the height and frequency of waves, which can then be used to calculate the pitch of the waves.
Pitch changes as you turn the tuning pegs. Volume can only be increased with an amplifier, then you just turn up the volume.
