A vertical antenna, like a piece of wire, connected directly to the radio, works well if it's

1/4 of the wavelength of the signal being received. If it's a horizontal wire hanging between

a couple of trees, with a coaxial cable connected to a gap in the middle of the wire, then it

works best when its overall end-to-end length is around 1/2 of the wavelength.

1/4 wavelength in feet is around: (246) divided by (frequency of the signal in MHz)

1/2 wavelength in feet is around: (492) divided by (frequency of the signal in MHz)

The frequency of red light is around 462,000,000 MHz. So for good efficiency, the

half-wave antenna should be about 0.00000107 foot long, or 0.0000128 inch.

If you have a radio receiver capable of tuning to the frequency of red, I'll personally

come help you trim the half-wave antenna to pick it up. In fact, I'll build you a by-George

100-element Yagi !

What telescope uses an antenna and receiver to study the stars?

A radio telescope has an antenna and a receiver to study the stars. Radio waves are part of the same radiation spectrum as light, and they are emitted by many celestial bodies. Analysis of radio emissions can give us information over and above what can be obtained from light.

Where is the button for the power antenna on a 1995 Mercury Mystique located?

There is no button for the power antenna it works by it self if you turn on the ignition and your radio is on the antenna should come up by it self, if problem doesent go away it could be that ur radio isent hooked up to the antenna (yellow wire) or your power antenna blew.
