Ringo Starr left after just a few days; his stomach couldn't handle the spicy foods offered at the ashram in Rishikesh, and he missed his children. Paul McCartney stayed about two weeks (walking around with a movie camera during breaks), then headed home.
John Lennon and George Harrison stayed another week or so, until their friend "Magic Alex" passed along a story he'd heard about the Maharishi getting flirtatious with Mia Farrow and other women at the ashram, and Lennon and Harrison became convinced the Maharishi was a fraud.
The Beatles never performed any concerts in India. They had a stopover there while on tour; George Harrison and road manager Mal Evans deplaned so Harrison could shop for a sitar. He returned for several private visits.
The whole band visited India early in 1968, to study with the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi at his retreat. While acoustic jam sessions happened in Rishikesh (some including singer-songwriter Donovan, who taught John Lennon and Paul McCartney the clawhammer guitar technique), there were no formal concerts.

Record sales and concerts were excellent. Merchandising was not successful for the Beatles as Brian Epstein practically gave away the rights out of ignorance.
