That was a ten piece maple kit. A second bass drum, 2nd floor tom and an extra tom(don't know the size) were added a couple of years later, making it a 13 piece kit.
Early 70s (maybe 70' or 71') Ludwig 3 ply shells with either Mahogany or Walnut stain. The kit looks like a 22, 13, 16, 18 with a Supraphonic metal snare drum. He used that kit (with the bottom heads off) for many years, starting with his stint with Linda Ronstadt. He used that same kit through 77' for sure, maybe 78'. He just added the timbales for Hotel California in 76. Later he used the blonde Ludwig concert tom kit with 22" bass drum and 4 large single headed concert toms (what looks like 13,14,15,16) with a large 18 floor tom recording "The Long Run" and subsequent tour until the band broke up in July, 1980.

Oh, dude, electric drums were created in the 1970s. Yeah, like, someone was probably tired of lugging around those heavy acoustic drums and was like, "Let's make these bad boys electric!" And boom, electric drums were born. So, if you're ever feeling lazy and don't want to set up a whole drum kit, just plug in those electric drums and rock on!
