That depends on the type of guitar you have. I work with Guitars everyday so I see guitars with 12 frets, 14 frets, 17 frets, 21 frets, 23 frets and occasionally I find 24 fret guitars (with the double octave of the open string) the most frets I have seen was a 29 fret Electric Guitar. The guitar was custom built though. Most commonly, you will find acoustics with probably 14 to 17 frets and electric guitars with 17 to 21 frets.
The standard classical guitar has 19 frets.
However, other types of guitars such as the steel-stringed acoustic and most electric guitars have anywhere from twenty to twenty four frets, depending on the manufacturer or builder. Generally, acoustic guitars will be closer to twenty, whilst electric guitars will have twenty three or twenty four.
Some popular guitar examples: Gibson Les Paul Standard (electric): 22 complete* frets
Fender American Stratocaster (electric): 22 complete frets Martin D-28 Acoustic: 20 complete frets Gibson Hummingbird Acoustic: 20 complete frets
*Guitars often have an additional fret area on the its board just above the sound hole or pick-up area. Whilst this area could be considered a place for a finger, it is not complete with fret wire and usually does not produce a favorable sound.
It depends on the guitar. They can have anywhere from 12 to 24 depending on the model.
a standard electric guitar will have 22 frets but custom ones can have 24
There are different guitars with 18, 19, 21, 22, 24 and up.
Most have 20. Some 19, some acoustic-electrics have 21. Most have 20. Some 19, some acoustic-electrics have 21.
Most acoustics have 20 frets, while some have 19. Some acoustic-electrics will have 21.
Well, on my acoustic there are 18 frets, not counting the one at the very top.
The average electric guitar has either twenty-two or twenty-four frets.
Because it is not a guitar
Depends entirely on the size of the guitar, what type of guitar, manufacturer ect. Most guitars have 22 frets on them, but some have up to 24. Some smaller-sized acoustics have as little as 18 frets on them, but all full sized guitars will have at least 22. all normal guitars have 22 or 24, but some have 21 or 25, and recently, ibanez made a guitar with 30 frets
Frets
Yes but metal frets will let the string resonate better
A 7 string guitar has an additional low note - usually tuned to B.
5.
Not all guitars have frets, however, it is probably best to learn using frets.

frets
If you mean frets to press the strings against - like the ones on the fingerboard of a guitar - there are no frets on a violin.

This depends on the number of frets on the guitar. Because of the way the strings are tuned, if a guitar is in standard tuning it has 26 + the number of frets possible notes, so a 22 fret guitar would have 48 possible notes and a 24 fret guitar would have 50.
Take it down to your local guitar shop.
It depends on the scale of the instrument, but the higher the frets are the closer they are together... no two frets are the same!
