Well there are two main types. The first type of scream is fry scream/vocal fry. This is a scream that sounds like someone is literally just screaming their lungs out, but it doesnt hurt or damage your vocal chords. If you listen to the album Fever by Bullet fot my Valentine and listen to the song Pretty on the outside, you will hear the lead singer (Matt Tuck) doing fry screams/vocal fry. It sounds Okay in my opinion but after a while it can sound a bit dull. Also, there isn't usually much of a change in pitch with fry screams.
The second main type of scream is Death screaming/death growls/ high pitched death screams. This is probably the most commonly used because its quite easy, sounds good, and its safe. The Death growl is the low pitched ogre kind of sound. The Death scream is medium pitch. Go buy Sounding the Seventh Trumpet by Avenged Sevenfold and listen to We Come out at Night. The lead singer (Matt Shadows) is doing death screams on that song.
Now the High Pitched death screams are in my opinion the best sounding. Its probably the most dangerous because the higher up you go in pitch the more chance there is of doing it wrong. Listen to the album Count your Blessings by Bring me the Horizon. The lead vocalist (Oliver Sykes, shortened to Oli Sykes) is, or was, probably the best high pitched death screamer because he could get his scream very high pitched. He couldn't do it live because he had to really concentrate to keep it that high pitched without damaging his voice. Oli Sykes decided not to do high pitched death screams on Bring me the Horizon's next two albums, however you can occasionaly hear one or two high pitched screams.
All of the above screams are exhale screams (you breath out air). A great source for screaming info is the Melissa Cross vocal studio. Melissa Cross was the lady that found the techique of screaming without hurting yourself. You can have lessons from her, but its $300 for one hour and shes in New York. She has, however, made a DVD for those who cant reach her, its called The Zen of Screaming. It covers vocal warm ups, and tips on improving your scream. She then made The Zen of Screaming 2, which is all about how to scream and the different types. Melissa Cross teaches Angela Gossow, the lead vocalist of Arch Enemy. Angela uses death screams I think.
There areinhale screams, but there has been debates on whether or not they are safe or practical.
The last I know of is the sometimes infamous pig squeals. There are exhale and inhale methods for pig squealing. Whitechapel pigsqueal lots. It sound weird, I would recommend the inhale pig squeals, but that's just personal preference.
I hope I've helped, I know its a huge answer but its a big topic to cover, I will answer how to do it if anyone asks so keep an eye out. DX< << Screamo face

Not really, because there are some "screamo" that isn't demented. No, Screamo is a type of music that anyone can listen to.
Screamo is way better than rap. Rap is all about sex and disrespecting women. At least screamo has a little dignity...

SCREAMO!
No. Being a screamo band does not automatically make them atheist. There are also screamo christian bands, believe it or not.
They are both really great screamo/rock & roll bands. Both groups have the same type of sound, except asking screams more and their songs are mostly about drugs, alcohol and sex.

This a clown head that screams, and screams, and screams.
No. I really hate Screamo, it is really annoying, irritating, and loud. It's total crap, I hate it. It isn't part of emo music anyway. Emo music is Rock, Punk, Indie and Hardcore. Many emo's hate Screamo.
Metal/Core genres feature the majority of "screamo"
