He died by an acute polydrug intoxication due to combined effects of oxycontin, oxymorphone, valium, nordiazepam and alcohol. As most people think it was just an overdose, it was more than just an overdose. It was the mixture that killed him. He also had an enlarged heart because of his excessive drinking.
It is about when their drummer died The REV. If you look at the album and look at the head stone it will say foREVer. I don't know if this will help you though

I highly doubt that Nightmare is the very last album that A7X will bring out. The band are bigger than they have ever been before and in my eyes and many others; this album was a big success. The Rev would be very proud :'D

One way they changed the world is they brought their music to our world. They continually explored new sounds, graphics, effects, and other designs. They have toured so many times and did something different everytime. They've received many awards and got higher ranks in music history then famous rappers, such as Nicki Minaj.Either their album City of Evil or Bat Country sold more copies then Michael Jackson's thriller.Their drummer (Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan) died in 2009 and despite the awful tragedy kept making music.Their last album Nightmare and many songs on it received many awards.Avenged Sevenfold was working on the a demo recording of Nightmare before The Rev died. However they used the recording with his voice on the album despite his death. They dedicated So Far Away off of Nightmare to his death.Avenged Sevenfold's members are like brothers and still are to this day. No one can ever replace The Rev's skills and talents. R.I.P. The Rev
i think they will because they just made that new album nightmare yes they did R.I.P The Rev

Yes, as of 2010 they are. Although many people thought that they would breakup after the death of The Rev. But they didn't breakup, instead they came out with their newest album titled Nightmare.
Yes, they have confirmed that they will stay a band. A lot of people thought that they would breakup after The Rev.'s death. But they released their new album Nightmare in honor of The Rev., and said that they are not breaking up.
When the song was written, the band had just lost their best friend and drummer, Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan. The song is about how they were feeling about the loss. This is a steady theme throughout the entire Nightmare album. As M Shadows said in an interview, "Even the songs that aren't about him are about him."
