most bass Guitars have 4 strings (this is what the majority of players use and what pretty much all beginners start with. 5 and 6 string basses are also avaliable, ans anything higher than this is very uncommon. To be honesy I think that the 5 string bass is the best option as it offers range on tone without becoming bulky and unnecersary, as anything 6 strings or above is for me.
4 you idiot, do you ever widen out except in a cardboard box.

five, or six strings. The four string bass by far the most common
The standard bass guitar has four strings, but five-string basses are common. The six-string bass, as used by bassists Oteil Burbridge and John Myung (of Dream Theater), is less common. Six string bass is used by Jack Bruce, but four strings is common. There can be any number of strings on a bass, but it wouldn't make sense to make one with 55 strings. There are few 9 stringers out there, which is a shame.Traditionally, it has four.

five, or six strings. The four string bass by far the most common
Guitar strings are made of many different substances. One of the most common is metal. Often a bass guitar will have copper-bound steel strings.
Four
it depends. usually, bass Guitars gome with 4, 5, or 6 strings, depending on the player's preference.
Guitar and bass are very similar. They both have a similar build and use basically the same overall technique, with many nuance differences. The guitar has six strings, and the bass has four. The four strings on a bass are the same as the four lowest sounding strings on a guitar. The biggest differences between the two are that the guitar uses chords and scales, whereas the bass uses mostly just scales, and the guitar has two more strings than a bass. Since the guitar uses chords and has two more strings, it is a little bit trickier to learn than the bass. Therefor, if you know guitar fairly well, you should be able to play bass without ever taking a lesson, whereas if you know bass fairly well, it will be a little bit more effort to learn the guitar.
