its not the biggest thing ever. Its made of 12 feet of tubing, but it also is coiled many times around in different directions. Its bell is about a foot in diameter. and the actual instrument is about a foot and a half tall normally and 2 feet wide. its about 10-15 pounds depending on if its a single or double horn. double horns have extra tubing, so they are heavier than single horns.

a pretty good mouthpiece is usually around 50 dollars. If you are a serious player, it is worth it to get a good one. I recommend a laskey or a shilke

If you purchase a quality, professional, new F/Bb horn, look to spend $25,000-300,000 (yes, six digits). A quality, good condition used horn will be more than $2,500. In used horns, you want quality, cosmetic damage to be minimal, all slides and rotors in operational condition, no red-rot, or other deformations that will affect tone/pitch/ tuning. This assessment is for double horns, in a professional series. I'm a music major, Trumpet/ Horn. Play horn in my state's Symphony Orchestra. Cheers. Some vendors will trade other Brass instruments, mutes, mouthpieces in a barter.
