It depends on how many hits they have. The bigger the hit the bigger money they will earn. If they have a big hit, they will play in bigger venues which will pay more. Also, if they have a hit it might just be used in a commercial or movie. A lot of rock bands haven't had more than one hit. All you need is one hit to get millions and millions of dollars.

∙ 13y agoRock Bands range from the super stars of music who make mega bucks to garage bands who never get a real gig. The second group may work their school amateur nights and thir cousins parties bt never make a dollar after the cost of instrment ad travel are excluded.
Since there are thousands in the second group and only a few of the big stars the average is probably a few hundred to a few thousand a year.

∙ 14y agoDepends how popular they are. All these 'how much do this type of band/musician' questions depend on how popular the band/musician becomes. Bands like Metallica or Iron Maiden are rich and get paid a lot, but if you're an obscure act you may never get to quit your day job.

∙ 12y agoSince i am officially in a metal band not to tell you who i am i saw this question and i want to answer this question and to be honest we make a pretty "FAIR" amount of money a year for shows,songs,albums,etc. we make a lot for that stuff but we make a pretty fair amount a year i mean were happy aren't we and also if we didnt make enough it also depends on who you work with but umm we(as in my band not alot make as much as we do) do what we luv so that's all thqat matters to me and my band really even though we make a lot were doing what we love so it doesnt really matter to us (as long as were not losing money lol seriously though) but yeah that's my answer
