All modern factory guitars are cut with computer-guided lathes. The fit and finish on even the lowest priced ones are much better than anything made in the 1970's. Leo Fender designed all his instruments to be low-priced, rugged and easy to repair. The 'classic' pre-CBS Fenders that now sell for up to tens of thousands of bucks now were all built by minimum-wage workers in Anaheim, CA.
