Hi! I'm from Grand Rapids. My mother bought a banjo from Strom in 1962 I think. She gave it to me and it is serial number 2022. I wish too what it's worth. I found an obituary for Gordon Sunstrom who died in Little Falls, MN 3-12-98 and born 6-27-19 and noted he started the company there in 1962. I found Strom banjo I think on Ebay and it was made in Brainerd, MN so he must have started a second plant. My mother bought a guitar from him too. I think my sister still ownes it; but it warped in storage and she also had long owned a very nice hand made (by a luthier not a company...). Look on Ebay. I also was told there are some good old instrument dealers I think in Michigan who have a website and are very reputable. They might tell you too. I just have to remember the name and try to find them. Where did you get your Strom?
Sincerely,
Mike

G string may be a gusset string or the string of the thong may be as thin as a g string from the guitar
The lowest string on a four string double bass is an E string. If you have a fairly rare five string double bass then the lowest fifth string is a B string.
e string, then a string, b string, g string, a string, d string...then repeat.
It depends on the tuning and string, both the thickest and thinnest strings are E without being played. The order of E notes on each string is below. I go in order from the thickest string to the thinnest string, and in standard tuning. 0 for E string 7 for A string 2 for D string 9 for G string 5 for B string 0 for E string
No, it is an alphanumeric string, not a number at all.
I highly doubt anyone knows. Perhaps, find a large map of Minnesota, estimate its perimeter (maybe by surrounding the border with string) then multiply by the proper scale factor.
It is a unique string of letters and numbers that you have to input in order to install the progarm. You have to pay money for this.
As the manufacturer sells .065", .080", and .095" string for both the 100 and 150, you can use any of those. If you don't have your owner's manual, you can download a copy if you put in your model and serial number on the server. Need a link? You got it.
Serial comes from "series" as in a "series" or "string" of events. This traces back further to the Latin "series" from "serere" meaning to join. Ultimately this comes from the PIE "ser-" with a similar meaning. This is to the best of my knowledge.
The longest piece of string measures 9,908 meters (32,516 ft 10 in) and was achieved by Apex Dynamics, Inc. in Taiwan on 7 April 2017.
The exact best method depends on a lot of unstated factors, such as the length and strength of the string, and whether there are any tools to hand. Also, do the children want to break the string roughly in the middle, so as to have two roughly equal pieces, or does it not matter where the string breaks? Each pulling one end is unlikely to be the best method. One or both children might fall over backwards when the string breaks, or the weaker child might be drawn towards the stronger one. A better option would be for one child to stand on the middle of the string and press downwards, while the other holds one end of the string in each hand and pulls upwards. If that doesn't work, both children could stand with one foot on the middle of the string and both could pull the ends upwards simultaneously.
A cup is usually a roughly cylindrical hollow container. The circumference of a cup would be the length of a piece of string wrapped around the cylinder.
in a meseum In Minnesota. There is also the World Second Largest Ball of Twine in Kansas and another lage ball of twine in Branson, Missouri.
I found it printed on the plate just to the left of the overstrung-bass support strut (in front of the bass string tuning pins).
