According to the Blue Book of Acoustic Guitars 11th edition. "the Fender F series were introduced in 1969. The f- series replaced the initial acoustic line and were discontinued sometime after 1980." they are worth $20-$70 depending on condition
That particular guitar was only made in 1980-1981 so it's hard to put a exact dollar amount. It sold for $175 back then, so if you count inflation, it would be about $500 now. It is one of the more rare guitars as a search online yields very few results while the fender f5-12 model, which sold for $195, is more common nowadays.
I've seen people quote the F5 anywhere from $30 to $100 for blue book value, but anyone that still has these 30 year old Fenders will probably not part with them for anything under $200 and maybe even more. Chances are, if it survived this long, it was one of the better made guitars and is a keeper.
I myself have the 12 string model and while the blue book value is only around $200, I wouldn't part with it for anything under $400 or $500, and that's a maybe. It sounds and plays better than anything under a grand at the music stores, and it has an added coolness factor for being 30 years old and still counting.
If you are thinking of buying one of these, I would check to see if the neck is twisted or if the bridge is starting to rise. If the guitar is still structurally sound, it was probably taken care of and should last another 30 years or so.
In pretty good condition, it should be worth around $100. I've seen them sell for around $70 - $80 for a beat up one, and around $150 for one in excellent condition.
It's almost a vintage since it was made in 1980 - 1981 and is a pretty good sounding guitar.
