There is no rap song that I know called "Living in the Bottle". However, it is often mistaken that a singer named Gil-Scott Heron was a rap artist and he once sung a song called "In the Bottle". Now, hip-hop, they may have bitten and made a song with that title, I can't tell you about "that", but when you say "Rap song" I can tell you as a Rapologist-Critic that in 1980-1981 there was no record that we danced to called "Living in the Bottle". Maybe there was a whack song by that title, but back in 1980-1981 it would have had to be done by Sugarhill Gang, Sequence, Furious 5, Younger Genearation, Funk 4 Plus One more, Spoonin G, Super Rhymes, Mictsro, Treacherous Three, Count Cool-out, ect. And I do not remember any of them putting out a "conscious rap" song with that title. "The Message" didn't come out until 1982. Flash and them have you all confused that "Gil-Scott Heron" and The Last Poets were rappers. Google "In the Bottle" by Gil-Scott Heron - not rap and not recorded in 1981.
