Answer: I assume you mean the radio clock light stays on after you turn the key to the off position. Based on my research there are there are three things that can cause this.First, there is the possibility of a bad diode in the radio itself which will require the replacing or disconnecting the radio.Second, there is a short somewhere causing the clock to stay on. Finding such short can be a hassle and it might be easier simply to disconnect the clock then trying to find the short.Finally, there is the (rare) possibility that the Body Control Module (BCM) has gone bad but this is unlikely if this is the only issue you are having.

I am rewiring a 71 super beetle. So far I have connected one of those half as wide connectors on a red wire to the K lug on that little light. Black power wire coming from a green wire on the emergency flasher pin #15 should connecto to the little #15 lug. A Blue wire should connecto to the little #61 lug. This wire comes from main harness and GEN warning light on speedo. One or all of these wires with tiny connectors should ne hanging around in there somewhere. Good luck.

about the interior staying on all the time. i had someone come in one day saying the interior light was always on. had a look and found the little switch just left of the headlight switch was in the "on" position. silly mistake. i think if the switch is in the upmost position, the interior light will stay on. i dont know if this helps you.
