Barry Manilow
Barry Manilow and Barbra Streisand are known to have a friendly relationship, having collaborated and supported each other's careers over the years. They share mutual respect for each other's talents and have often expressed admiration for one another in interviews. However, while they may not be the closest of friends, they maintain a cordial and supportive connection in the entertainment industry.
Beginners usually have trouble alternating switching between chords. A good way to practice this is to sit down in a quite area and visualize the chords as if you were playing the guitar.
No. I remember him saying in an interview that it was a one-time check in exchange for the royalty-free jingle. As I recall (though I could be wrong), he said he was paid $300 for it.
I have heard from several reliable sources that he is. He was playing a cheap classical when he recorded his album "Guitar Man" and a mutual friend has said that he was on the quest for a really good quality classical guitar.

Actually, Barry Manilow never sang on the original jingle. He did write the music for it, though. Also, he did sing it as part of his V.S.M. (Very Strange Medley) in concert for a number of years. 1976 is the year that State Farm started running the ads. BTW, that VSM is on Barry Manilow Live, the one that was released in May, 1977.
