No,they're not... especially when you position it where the opposite wall less than 20 feet away. At low sound level setting ( -40 to -30 decibel ), vocal and high freq come out OK but not enough of bass and mid to boost up your singing mood. Bring the volume up a little or tweeking with the equalizer .... here come the feedback. I have a pair of these ( facing a wall 20 ft away) , a Mackie DFX-12 mixer, Mackie FR-2500 pwr amp , Sonic Maximizer BBE-428, FBQ-3102 Behringer Equalizer with feedback detection .... well, I get rid of the JBL and bought a pair Yamaha S155-V. My Karaoke system is now sound better than before. No more feed back at mid-level and plenty of bass at lower level setting.
