Miss Kitty, a character from the television series "Gunsmoke," is a fictional character. She was portrayed by actress Amanda Blake and served as the owner of the Long Branch Saloon in the town of Dodge City. The show, which aired from 1955 to 1975, is based on the Old West but features entirely fictional characters and storylines.

Miss Kitty, a character from the television series "Gunsmoke," typically used a .45 caliber Colt Single Action Army revolver. This iconic firearm was popular in the Old West and was often associated with lawmen and outlaws alike. The choice of this pistol helped to emphasize her strong, independent character in the show.
After Amanda Blake left "Gunsmoke," actress Margot Kidder briefly took on the role of Miss Kitty Russell in the show's final season. However, her portrayal was met with mixed reviews, and she did not become a permanent replacement. Ultimately, the character of Miss Kitty was retired along with Blake’s departure, and the show continued without her.

When Amanda Blake left "Gunsmoke," her character, Miss Kitty Russell, was succeeded by a new character named "Miss Hannah," played by actress Jeanette Nolan. Miss Hannah took over the Long Branch Saloon, which was a central location in the series. The change marked a significant shift in the show's dynamic, as Miss Kitty had been a beloved character throughout the series' run.

Once on the cheek at a Christmas party.
As far as I know Kitty Wells never was an actress in Gunsmoke. There was a Miss Kitty played be Amanda Blake. Kitty Wells was a Country Music singer in the 50's, 60's and 70's.
Marshal Matt Dillon never married on Gunsmoke. He was involved with Miss Kitty Russell, owner of the Long Branch Saloon, but they never married. Check out Toby Keith's song "Shoulda Been a Cowboy" in which he talks about Marshal Dillon & Miss Kitty.
I am partial to "Miss Kitty" aka Miss Kitty of the old western series "Gunsmoke".
