its a matter of taste, BC Rich is more metal, Epiphone is more traditional rock. My friend payed 700 or 800 for a les paul epiphone and its nowhere near as good as my warlock.. all my friends like the sound and lightness of my warlock a lot more. All different people from blues and alternative to thrash metal would rather the warlock.
all bc rich Guitars have 24 frets meaning more solo possibilities
the paints harder to chip
MUCH cheaper, 500$ will buy you a much better guitar than from epiphone

all my BC Rich guitars never had any problems with and their both about 5 years old
a lot of BC Rich guitars have Floyd roses, not too many gibsons (or epiphones) come with them
epiphone is overrated to me and overpriced but they do sound good otherwise they wouldn`t be around as long, just my opinion.

∙ 12y agoThere are many AMAZING ones but they usually cost A LOT. I'm talking thousands! However, if you don't mind owning the Kerry King (of Slayer) guitar (the high end one), it will only set you back about £700 ($1400). This is VERY cheap for what it has. High end pickups, a real Kahler Tremolo, neck thru construction and a killer paint job! If you don't know what all that means just understand that its professional and top end equipment! Good luck.

Well if you going for a feel like classic and punk type, it feels better using an Epiphone; but it your going for death metal and speed stuff, you can go wrong with a BC Rich. I mean take your pick Warlock, Bich, Beast, Mockingbird, Virgo all very fine and fierce looking guitars, also equipped with a floyd rose bridge to mack those pitch harmonics wine or make those low notes go as low as hell.
On the other hand Epiphone Les Paul, SG, V's, arch-tops, Explorers sleek and stylish perfect for all types a music not equipped with a floyd rose, but sometimes that works to an advantage. Strings don't go out of tune and are very easily adjusted for quick tuning.
I like to think of guitars as cars. Epiphone/Gibson- kind of like the exotics of guitars, expensive but very worth it. Not always the most powerful in some areas, but also accounting for wisdom, having been one of the oldest guitar companies can create sounds some newer guitars cant even reach.
BC Rich- I think they would be like the hummer of guitars, very strong, very powerful, not always to everyone's liking but will mow down anything you put in front of it.

What is generally good about Epiphone guitars?
Well, for one there super cheap. Secondly, they tend to play about as good as a Gibson, compairing the Standard Gibson with the Epiphone, and thirdly, they sound good with pretty much any amp, they can be used for almost any type of music, and are quite a bit lighter, weight wise, than a gibson. From a personal standpoint, I have a couple guitars, and one of them is the Epiphone Les Paul Special II, Another is the Dean Vendetta Camo, I play them on a Line6 spider III, and the Epiphone has more tone for metal, the epiphone has more tone for solos, the epiphone sounds better on the clean channel, (but only when play rythm) and it looks alot better than the Dean, now I know there are some differences between the two, but I do preffer the Epiphone over the Dean, however to be fair, I will say this, the Dean has a MUCH faster neck than the Epiphone, and the Dean's all (even the cheapest, most crapy playing) have 24 fretts to Epiphone's (all that I know of) 22 frets. I am going to turn the Dean guitar in for Epiphone Standard Les Paul, but first I will change the pickups in the epiphone for Gibsons, just for Giggles. And I'll update when I do.
Is tanglewood a good brand for guitar?
Indeed its a really good guitar. I think the sound and the sustain is better than epiphones one. Epiphone is not worth the price, its just the name. So, yes, tanglewood eletric guitars are really good and are well finished also, so its completely worth buying it.

in my opinion, the epiphone les paul special 2 is the best in my choice. i had mine for about over a year now and it is a great guitar for beginners like me. plus it is very affordable and it also looks good. the GT just looks a little better and it has more bonuses to it. but i would go for the special 2.
