From all I've heard, Kessler's custom saxes are all good values (that is, they're great for the money). I have also heard, though, that while there have been comparisons between Kessler Custom tenors and Selmers ("Wow!" I thought), I haven't heard the same for the altos. I'm also looking at getting a Kessler alto, and what I think is I'm going to have to get that Handmade model to get a great model alto from there - Kessler made these with a heavier red brass that's supposed to make the alto's sound have more body, because what I heard of the other models is that they're sort of too light-sounding. The Jazz Handmade alto looks to be a really nice alto for just under $1300 - I'm guessing it's going to blow the Antigua AWAY!
