Not at all. There are certainly some vocalists who sing bass and play comic roles-- we hear some of them in barbershop quartets, and there was even a top-40 hit in the early 1960s called "Mr. Bass Man." But bass and baritone voices are absolutely not restricted to lighter songs or comedic styling. In fact, we can hear bass and baritone voices singing classical melodies, performing in Opera, being a part of glee clubs, and playing an important role in choral music.

It's still just called a bass in English, though for Opera there are different types for different types of roles. Basso Cantante - higher and more lyrical Hoher Bass - high, dramatic; can also be a baritone Jugendlicher Bass - wherein the role of a young man is sung by a bass of any age Basso Buffo - blustery, comic relief bad guys, also called a spielbass Basso Profundo (lyric or dramatic)- the deepest, lowest bass there is, lyric tends to be sweeter, dramatic is loud and powerful

Opera "comique" has spoken lines, not just singing.Second Answer:The only practical difference is that comic opera is usually funny and ends happily. Some operas have spoken dialogue, but it doesn't necessarily make them comic operas. Bizet's opera Carmen was written with spoken dialogue between the musical numbers and was premiered at the Opera Comique in Paris, but it is definitely not a comic opera. In the early 18th century, Italian composers sometimes gave female lead roles in serious operas to sopranos and in comic operas to mezzo-sopranos, but that wasn't universal either.
In my opinion, yes. David Tennant has played many comic theatre roles, and has many funny moments on Doctor Who.
