Kona Guitars have a full sound, their acoustics are made of good wood, and have decent hardware. The Kona electrics have decent fretboards, decent wood, reasonable electronics, and low noise components. These are good entry level instruments that I'd put against any epiphone, squire, or ibanez starter guitar.

Silverstone guitars are typically poorly constructed, and comprised of low end components. Silverstone does a good job of dressing them up, but the bottom line is that while they look good, it's nearly impossible to make them sound good. The fretwork is typically inconsistent, the necks are not very straight, the tuners have too much play, and the controls are noisy.

As a rule-don't buy a guitar based on looks. Judge a guitar based on sound.

Hope this helps.
