McFly day isn't any particular Friday. It was part of a British radio show, the Chris Moyles Show, on Radio 1. Star Girl was played at around 8:30 every Friday morning. This ended when the Chris Moyles Show finished but McFly recorded a special version of Star Girl from the USA for the last show.
