Most people would consider Taking Back Sunday to be an emo band (as well as a pop-punk and alt-rock band), but it is true that the band members themselves said that they do not consider themselves emo, not because they do not feel that the band has emo elements, but because they think that the band shouldn't be pigeonholed into one genre.

Motionless in White is a metalcore band. Whether emo's listen to it or not depends on the people. They're not typically an emo band, althought the majority of people nowadays do not understand what "emo" music is. It could be listened to by what society incorrectly considers emo though. It is not typically a band listened to by metalheads (not saying you can't be a metalhead and listen to them, metalheads are all about diversity). They are certainly not a Goth band, they are a world apart from Bauhaus, Christian Death or Sisters of Mercy.
learn to play the electric guitar or start your own band with emo friends
