There is always a way to play guitar if you desire it enough. I have heard great Guitars with only one arm that use a tapping technique on the fret board. No many years ago, I saw on television a man playing guitar for the Pope. He did not have any arms and was using his feet and toes.

Django Reinhardt had only 3 usable fingers in his left hand and he is the greatest gypsy jazz guitarist of all time. Also, you could play "lefty," meaning you could get a guitar made backwards, and you could use your right hand to finger the frets and your left hand to strum the guitar. It might feel uncomfortable at first, but after a short time you wouldn't be able to tell.

How to hold a guitar correctly for optimal playing technique?

To hold a guitar correctly for optimal playing technique, sit up straight with the guitar resting on your right leg (if you're right-handed) or left leg (if you're left-handed). Keep the guitar body close to your body and at a slight angle. Support the neck with your left hand and place your fingers on the fretboard for playing. Practice good posture and hand positioning to improve your playing technique.

What letters would be used to describe someone with a straight thumb?

A straight thumb is often described using the letters "A" or "B" in the context of thumb classification. Specifically, "A" refers to a straight thumb where the thumb is aligned with the rest of the fingers, while "B" indicates a more slight angle. In some contexts, the "A" classification is used for a more traditional straight thumb appearance.

Will a bass lead work in an electric guitar amp?

yes- there might be slight differences in the set up but a jack to jack lead will work with either instrument perfectly fine. There may be slight variations in tone between a guitar and bass lead but nothing that will dramatically effect it!

If someone plays guitar and no sound comes out are you plucking it too hard?

Well, that matters. If it's an acoustic guitar, and no sound comes out, that could never happen. But if it's an electric guitar you're talking about, either the amps not on, the volume is not up on the guitar or amp, or the cord that leads from the amp to the guitar input jack is bad. You should be able to hear a slight noise from an electric guitar even with the amp malfunctioning or switched off, since the strings do make slight vibrations in airspace anyway. Perhaps they have their hand or arm muting the strings?

Does anyone know if working out your forearms slows down your finger movement. I work out and play guitar and don't want to limit my abilities?

I'm a lifter and musician as well. I'm answering this from my personal experience and based on what I've read over the years. Increasing your forearm strength will only help your guitar-playing by increasing the stamina in your forearms, hands, and fingers. Some people's fingers may feel a little numb after an arm workout; this is just a short-term effect of "motor neuron burnout". It goes away after you rest for an hour or two. The only disadvantage to working out your forearms might be the slight increase in the size of your fingers as the tendons become thicker. However, tendons are connective tissue, which does not increase nearly as much as muscle tissue as it gets stronger. So, any increase in the thickness of your fingers will be fairly small, and as long as you practice guitar continuously, you will adjust naturally and probably won't even notice the change.

What is quitar?

It seems there may be a slight typo in your question. However, if you meant to ask about a "guitar," it is a musical instrument with strings that is typically played by strumming or plucking. The guitar is popular in many music genres and can be acoustic or electric.
