Have just had a brain wave..... the lyrics are sung to the music "Tales from the Vienna Woods" by Strauss. There are numerous versions on YouTube - some sung - but none with these lyrics unfortunately. Some are in Italian or Spainish so I cant be sure what is happening there. The lyrics Ive shared with you must have been the result of some latter day lyricist adding his/her own work to the melody - with quite beautiful results may I say. I still havent been able to improve on the lyrics but hope you can use what I have provided. Cheers.

When I was a young child singing in a choir we sang this song - and while i remember much of the lyrics - im struggling with the title. have just contacted a friend on friends reunited who was in the choir and asked her. will get back to you.
