That seems to be quite a common problem on the 1998 models , from what I have read it is caused by bad soldered connections inside the radio.

I have a 1994 Sierra...maybe it's the same. Turn the radio power off. Then press the set button. Then press the volume and/or scan buttons to change hour and mins. I don't recall which does hours and which does mins. But...the radio power is definitely off in order to set it. Hope this helps!

If the radio is not working on a 1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport it might be a blown fuse. Try the CD player to see if that works. If the CD player works then it might be an antenna problem.
To fit a new radio in a 1998 Peugeot 106, start by removing the existing radio using a set of radio removal tools or a flathead screwdriver. Disconnect the wiring harness and antenna cable from the old unit. Connect the new radio's wiring harness to the car's wiring, ensuring the colors match, and attach the antenna. Finally, secure the new radio in place and reassemble the dashboard.
