The volume dial on my Kay 3 electric guitar was twisted too far and broke it is not just the plastic cap it is the actual metal dial that broke What is the best way to fix it?

If it was just the plastic cap on the switch that broke, you can maybe fix it with superglue. Can you still turn the metal spindle underneath?
If this doesn't work you might have to replace the whole switch and solder the wires correctly inside.
