235-75 R15 were approved by my Jeep dealer.

The stock tires are 185-75 R15 and Sam's Club would only go up 1 size. So I had to get the okay from my dealer , which I did and Sam's gave me the 235-75 R15 tires. I have them on my (2) 98 jeeps for about 10 years now.

The original equipment fitment for your vehicle is: 215/75R15 (for the SE)
The original equipment fitment for your vehicle is: 225/70R15 (for the Limited and the Laredo) Also Keep the tires inflated to proper pressures. Under inflated tires create more drag and use more fuel. Good Luck

I drive a '89 Laredo and I put 235 r15's on it. Slows down the Engine RPMs for better gas milage.

It would depend on the trim level. The label in the driver side door jamb should list what size it was built with.
