[Leonard] left {Dorsey} when relations cooled. Embarked on career as single, recorded, appeared on radio. Military service in World War II interrupted career. Entertained at Fort Dix, N.J., later overseas. After discharge resumed career in 1946 without great success, abandoned it not long after. Road manager and radio promotion man for Tommy Dorsey awhile. Settled in Los Angeles, became music executive. Reference: The complete encyclopedia of popular music and jazz 1900-1950 Roger D Kinkle Arlington House Publishers Westport, Conn 1974 Leonard recorded for Majestic after WW II.
