I would avoid Johnson Guitars. Even if they seem alright at first, after about six months to a year they start to warp and twist and become not only unplayable, but unfixable. Squires are hit or miss. I've seen some that were OK and others that were not. But if your choice is one or the other, go with the squire.

Is it smart to buy a Squier Telecaster and rig it out or a Mexican Fender Telecaster with 2 double coil humbuckers?

Just buy the Fender instead of the Squier. From the description, you're probably looking at a Fender '72 Telecaster Deluxe, with two "wide range" humbuckers and four control knobs. You can modify a Squier, but the cost of the modifications and the parts will probably exceed the cost of the guitar. And there is never any guarantee that the resulting sound will be good until you've already paid for and completed the modification. Also, a Squier depreciates in value pretty much the second you take it out of the store. A Fender, even a Mexican one, will hold its value better. When in doubt, just buy the guitar that already has the sound and feel you want.

Is a jay turser jtlt guitar a good guitar?

Yes Yes Yes. Jay Turser makes great guitars. Don't get fooled by the price tag Jay Turser makes great guitars. If you ask me I would buy an off brand guitar any day. I just think that Gibsons and Fenders are just such a cookie-cutter guitar that they aren't fun to play, because everybody has them. If you like Jay Turser then you would also like these guitar manufacturers, Danelectro, Peavey, Silvertone, First Act, Squier, and Teisco. My personal favorite two guitar in my colloction of 12 guitars would be my reissue blueburst Danelectro U2, and my rare 2005 Squier 51 Vintage Modified guitar. Both of these guitars were bought for under $250, proving that you don't need to spend your hard earned cash on a $3,000 Gibson or a $5,000 Fender to get a good guitar. Its not what you play it's how well you play it that matters.

Which guitar is right for me?

A Squier Stratocaster is a fairly versatile guitar and is not too difficult to play.It depends on what style of music you want to play but you cannot rewally go wrong with a stratocaster. If you can afford a Fender strat then that would be nicer to play than a Squier and should stay in tune better too.

Which is better Squier Fat Strat or Squier Jagmaster?

i currently own a Squier Standard Stratocaster, a Squier Affinity Strat, a Squier Jagmaster and an Epiphone Lucille. I have owned a Fender Standard Stratocaster in the past as well as a 90's Squier Stratocaster.all of that said, Squier's are very good guitars with bad reputations. having played and recorded for years now, i would say the Jagmaster is going to have a slightly higher build quality, and to me anyway, is just a bit more versatile. Jagmasters sound similar to an SG and have a short scale neck which i find very comfortable. very good clean and excellent distorted. and i love the stock pickups.the one thing a Jagmaster and no other guitar can sound like other than a Strat, is a Strat, and with the humbucker in the bridge position you can get Gibson-esque tones from it.i don't think you can go wrong with either, but a Jagmaster will handle metal and heavier stuff better and can still do surf and country, with more tonal choices. the Fat Strat will sound like a Strat, like Stevie or Jimi or The Band. neither is better to me just different. the Jagmaster is also more comfortable to me to play for longer periods of time than any guitar i own.Play a bunch and see what you like best. and as far as quality instruments go these are both very inexpensive, save up and buy both.

Should I buy a new guitar or a new amp?

Depends if you have a good guitar or not, if not get a guitar if you do get an amp and just buy a new guitar when your current one is not worth having anymore :)

Will you need the guitar to play Guitar Hero world tour?

No, but you'll still look stupid saying the words, "rock on" to activate your start power. God, all guitar hero games suck. Go buy a cheap Squier Strat and play on that. its more rewarding and a lot more fun.

I would just say let the acoustic guitar be, and buy a hollow-body electric guitar.
