After their initial schedule calmed down - the band did a world tour, a US tour a UK tour, recorded two LPs and 4 singles and made a feature film in 1964 alone - Lennon went through a "fat Elvis" phase - where he put on weight as he just sat at home. He soon lost the weight though.
He described himself as lazy; although people who worked with him in the studio recalled him as very disciplined throughout his career.
