The majority of songs in this crossover category are in 4/4 time...that is, the lay back 1, 2, beat that is prevalent in good old Beachboy, Beatle, some Simon and Garfunkle, Various one hit wonders, and so on. They definitely have a pushy rhythym and beat that determines their rock 'n' roll status. Who and Boston, Black Sabbath, Cream, Led Zepplin, Cheap Trick, fall more into Hard Rock, because though the words are very interesting, they do not have to entice you to listen to the next bar...it's already collected for you in the driving beat. The Hard Rock allows you the freedom to simply tune in while you're driving your car at eighty (or more) and the strength of the body of music moves you so much you don't need the facts on the drama of words or stories to hold your interest. In other words, you don't care how the girl got to the same place you did...she's there! In all cases though, the R&R colors in all of your emotions from blues to car racing to girls by giving you a straight beat and variety of chords. By all means both are rock and roll. R&R has song stories, melodies, dramatic turning points and themes holding your interest along with a well rounded beat to encase the tune, while Hard Rock skips the introductions. *Heavy Metal might be the next step in treating Rock 'n' Roll to a day in the park without even the slightest hint of story. Just a suggestion into a thought may be well enough to hold your interest.*
they are kinda the same, alternative is more selective music such as Arctic monkey's, foo fighters, nirvana, radio-head (uncatogorized music) while rock is somewhat softer and has similar themes and beats.
Yes, I believe they are it is spelt differently but means the same thing
Heavy Metal was originally coming from Rock. Because Rock isn't that hard like Heavy Metal and Heavy Metal was invented, it shows the difference between both music genres. Heavy Metal must have hard beats as same as country music needs accustic guitars and heartbroken lyrics. Same as techno needs infinite amounts of the same beats with few breaks, but the rythm is the same all the time in a loop.
Danger Radio is hard to pin down as being one specific genre. It sounds like rock, but techno at the same time. Rock has many genres in and of itself. If I had to choose I would say it is either electronic or punk rock.
If your practicing any listening to rock at the same time then yes
Not where; when. Music started early when humans were still hairy, or hominids. (What, we, Americans call cavemen.) It started with hand- clapping, then to banging sticks, then chanting to beats and rhythms, and finally those chantings became songs with melodies.
Tastebuds.fm is a site that helps you meet people who like the same music you do. There are many people interested in rock and metal music on the site Vampire Freaks and there are also many people on MySpace who are interested in this style of music.

No. Classical music sprung from the art movement, while rock and pop from entertainment. That said, these days there is some crossover.
It means rock as in a big stone and the music are the same word with different meanings.
