It's a very defiant song, definitely, because she's talking about not getting hurt again like she did in the past and she's chosen to make her new strength the chorus/title.

I think the verses before the first chorus are set in the present after she's already kicked them to the curb and now they're back in her life. She's letting them know that the same thing isn't going to happen as before, and that they didn't respect her enough the last time (not to, not love until it's cheap).

I really like the second verse though because I think she's relaying the aftermath of their first fling. The song is sad to me because of this part, because I see her as having been idealistic about their relationship when it started. But it fell to pieces and she was too proud to admit that and let it go, and the guy lashed out at her as a consequence (dirty words come out to play, etc).

But the song is sad to me because the person the song is directed at is someone she truly cared about and who has a strong hold on her - she wouldn't have to write a song about them if she could let them go a second time so easily. They've come knocking again and she's trying to be defiant about it but has had to write a song out of her anger and hurt. I like how she's honest with herself - they fill her up with doubt, they really affect her and she knows that. That's why it's not going to happen again.

If it is by La Roux, no I don't. The song is very high pitched and for me it sounds very nasal. But that is just my opinion it is up to you to decide.
