Why were the people persecuting the mormens?

People are naturally hostile against those who appear 'different' from themselves. Mormons are persecuted by people who believe that they are too different to be accepted into society. Historically, the worst persecution was in the 1830's and 1840's, when Mormons were forced from their homes four times - in New York, Ohio, Missouri, and Illinois. Often this was because the local residents were afraid that Mormons would become the majority and sway local politics. Also many people did not like that Mormonism was not a traditional Christian religion. Today, persecution against Mormons is mostly done by those who misunderstand the teachings of the church or by those who disagree with the conservative standards of Mormons.

What do Mormens believe about African Americans?

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) have no religious doctrines or beliefs specifically about African Americans. Many Mormons believe that blacks of African descent are descendants of Noah's son Ham, which is a common belief among many Biblical scholars. For a period of time between about 1845 and 1978, the Mormon Church prevented blacks of African descent (including those living in Africa or other nations) from holding leadership positions in the Church. There were a few exceptions to this rule. This was a very unpopular policy among church members, and blacks have been welcome in leadership roles since 1978. However, the Mormonism remains unpopular among many blacks, especially African Americans, who tend to stay in traditionally 'black' churches, such as African Methodist Episcopalian, National Baptist, and Church of God in Christ.

Why do mormens wear special under wear.?

Mormon adults who have participated in a sacred ceremony called the "Endowment" wear special underwear. The Endowment may be viewed as a sort of step beyond baptism, in which one makes covenants with God to demonstrate their commitment to Him. The underwear, or "temple garment", is meant to be a personal reminder of the covenants made with God during the ceremony. It is similar to the way that a Christian might wear a cross necklace to remind them of their personal commitment to Jesus, or how a Catholic nun might wear simple modest robes to remind them of the vows they have made. The Mormon temple garment is modeled after the "linen breeches" and "linen coats" mentioned in the Old Testament, worn by the priests of the temple following their annointing. (see Exodus 28:42; Exodus 39:27-28; Leviticus 6:10; Leviticus 16:4; Ezekiel 44:17-19)The Church has made an informative video and short article about the temple garment, including images of the garments, available at www.mormonnewsroom.org/article/temple-garments.

How do mormens feel towards herasexuals?

I assume you are asking 'How do Mormons feel towards homosexuals?' Mormons (members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) believe that gender and the power to procreate are sacred gifts from God and should not be used inappropriately. The believe that sexual relations are meant only to take place between a man and woman legally married as husband and wife. This means they support heterosexual (tradiational) marriage. The Church and it's members acknowledge that many are conflicted with feelings of being attracted to the same gender (that is, many are homosexual). The Church welcomes homosexuals and allows them to be baptized and fully participate in their local congregations. The Church, however, expects it's homosexual members to abide by the same guidelines as it's heterosexual members, which includes living a moral and chaste lifestyle. They must avoid having sexual relationships with anyone outside of marriage or who is of the same gender. To put it simply, the Church welcomes homosexuals, and there are many homosexual Mormons, but they are expected to avoid any intimate homosexual relationships.
