Answer: This is going to be really hard to answer because I am sure there are small town companies that specialize a certain type of guitar that no one's heard of. That may sound unlikely, but it could be true you never know.

Anyway, here is a list of some TYPES of guitars, not BRANDS or COMPANIES. (i.e. Ibanez, Gibson.) Feel free to add any that aren't included in the list.

There are many, MANY types of guitars. But that's after you break them into the twomajor groups; electric and acoustic. Electric guitars can come with (I've seen) 6, 7, 8, or 12 strings, (you could probably custom order an electric with any number of strings) have 1-5 necks on a single guitar, or be a hollow body or a hybrid acoustic with an amp plug. Acoustics are a little less versatile. A double necked acoustic is unheard of in my book, and usually comes with 6 or 12 strings, (excluding special orders)
