What are the pros and cons of Electric and ventless Fireplaces?

Electric Fireplaces Pros:

1) No need to go out and buy those fire logs or gel fuel

2) No more cleaning, wiping, and wasting time

3) No more worrying about fire hazard

4) Come home after work, click a button; looks like a real fire, heats, and crates the sound. I also have an option of turning any of these on or off.

Cons:

Flame isn't as real as gel fireplaces.

Gel Fireplaces Pros:

1) The flame is very real, as real as it gets

2) provides little more heat than electric fireplaces

3) Less expensive than electric fireplace

Cons:

1) Need to purchase gel fuel (which make it more expensive to own, in the long run)

2) need to deal with lighting, putting it out, and sealing the can after each use.

3) Not as attractive as the electric.
