What are the special features of the trumpet?

The Trumpet is different from other valved brass instruments in it's range. French horn has a range that includes the trumpet range but it is a mellower or muted sound. The trumpet can have a very brilliant tone.

The trumpet is awesome. It is a brass, which means you buzz into the mouthpiece to make noise. The case is small compared to a Trombone or Saxophone, but large to a Clarinet or flute case. The trumpet plays higher notes, and the faster you buzz your lips, the higher you go, giving the trumpet no set range - but the better you are, the higher you can play. Trumpets produce a cheerful, bright sound that plays the melody in a lot of band music.

Clean it periodically, oil the valves, wipe it off with a cleaning cloth after you play it to remove perspiration and body oils, don't drop it, don't bump it against things, keep it in the case when you're not playing it.

What is unique about the trumpet is as follow:

• It is the only brass (besides cornet; it's close 'cousin') that plays a high upper range.

• It's pretty much the loudest concert or marching band instrument besides the drums. (and sometimes trumpets can be louder than drums too)

• Trumpets usually play the melody in a song with the clarinet and Flute. But the trumpets are so loud you can't hear the clarinet or flute.

• The trumpet, because of it's loudness, usually gets most of the solos.

• Trumpets can come in a range of colors, including; gold, silver, black, red, green, purple, blue, and white.

• plus, trumpet players are some of the coolest people you will ever meet.

The flute has many special features. For one, it is one of the highest playing instruments in the orchestra. If your looking for something simple, it has 3 parts: a head - which the embrochure hole is and the lip plate, the body ( that's what I call it) : with all the keys, and the tail ( another part I've named myself): the tail has few keys on it and it the last piece of the flute.

A soprano Bb clarinet has a wide range of notes from the E (concert D) in the bass staff to the C (concert Bb) above the C right above the treble staff and maybe higher.

This is possible by the two register keys that were added by Johann Christoph Denner in 1690 to the chalumeau, the first reed instrument, which only had a one octave range.

Of course, the clarinet also has a nice sound.

A long, skinny brass instrument that is known for it's high, loud sounds. It has 3 valves, so some notes have the same valve combos, you just change the pitch by tightening or loosening your lips.

Starting at the mouthpiece which is separate from the trumpet, there is a shiny metallic tube. This tube appears to wrap around the trumpet going into the valves until it opens up into the "bell" which is the larger opening on the trumpet opposite the mouthpiece. There are 3 valves on a trumpet. They each have a place for the fingers to go. There is usually a ring for the pinky to sit on while playing. There is also a ring for the left hand ring finger. On some trumpets there is a hook for the left hand thumb.
