One of the most representative artists of the Detroit blues style is John Lee Hooker. His unique blend of Delta blues with a more urban, electric sound helped define the Detroit blues scene. Other notable artists include Eddie "Guitar" Burns and Boogie Woogie Red, who contributed to the genre's development in the city during the mid-20th century. These musicians played a significant role in shaping the sound and evolution of Blues Music in Detroit.

One important Blues style is the Delta Blues, which originated in the Mississippi Delta region in the early 20th century. Characterized by its raw emotional expression and use of slide guitar, Delta Blues often features simple, repetitive structures and haunting melodies. Notable artists in this style include Robert Johnson and Son House, who used their music to convey personal struggles and social commentary. The influence of Delta Blues can be seen in many modern music genres, including rock and folk.
Delta Blues, often called the original blues. This includes Robert Johnson, Leadbelly, and Son House. Chicago Blues, which is basically the delta blues but electric. Muddy Waters is considered the first, but there is also Howlin' Wolf and Little Walters solo stuff is quite good. Texas Blues, Memphis Blues, Detroit Blues and then Blues Rock that originated in the 1960's.
Musical icons are the stepping stones in which the artists of today draw their influence from. By combining the musical ideas of past artists with the unique nature of their own musical fingerprint, artists take common threads of different artists and weave them into beautiful, yet stunningly unique musical tapestries. Take the influence of the Delta and Chicago-style blues on the British Blues invasion during the 1960's for example. Many of the white, lower-middle class musicians that were being raised in Britain (Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, etc.) identified with not only the musical sound, but the lyrical content of that music. These artists then took the blues guitar techniques that they heard and identified with: note-bending, dominant sevenths, shuffle beats and syncopation, and blues scale soloing, and ran these through amplifiers and added distortion, and from there we see a whole new sound, and a whole style of music.
