When I was young, my family had the 8-track of Barry Manilow Live, which came out in May, 1977, and it includes a medley of several of the jingles he wrote. I haven't listened to the 8-track since the 1970s, but I'll see how many I can remember... "... Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there..." "Give your face something to smile about... with Stridex..." "I am stuck on Band Aid brand 'cause Band Aid's stuck on me. I am stuck on Band Aid brand 'cause Band Aid's stuck on me, 'cause it holds on tight in the bathtub and it clings in soapy suds..." "There's barking in the kitchen, yelling in the halls, ringing at the doorbell, banging on the walls, kids out of sight and kids in the way. No time to cook on this hectic day... Come on... Come on... Come on... Get a bucket of chicken, finger lickin' good! Have a barrel of fun. Goodbye ho-hums. Say 'hello' to your family. Come on, everyone, at Kentucky Fried Chicken, have a barrel of fun!" I also remember that the medley ended with a McDonald's jingle, but I don't remember which one. Maybe a fellow oldster can add to this list...
Maybe he sings in his bathroom during showering, but he is a cellist, rather worlds leading cellist. As far as I know, professionally I happen to play with him during some tours he did a few years back. (I was a second violinist at the KCO, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam), the man hums a bit, but that's not singing :)
Have you tried changing the settings on your amp? there could be too much gain. If you have tried this, there may be a hole or other form of damage in the speaker. take a look if you can. They can sometimes be fixed, but if not you could be looking at buying a new amp.
