Queen never broke up. It is still going strong to this day. Freddie Mercury passed away in 1991 and John Deacon retired in 1997 so it is not the same as it used to be but Roger Taylor and Brian May are now the remaining members of Queen and they have performed with people such as Paul Rodgers and Jessie J.
But Freddie Mercury died in his Kensington home in London, England.

Rumour is they will have Adam LAmbert do the honors of singing for Freddie.
