Celine Dion is extremely popular in France, and is one of the highest-selling artists, there. She has the best-selling French-language album of all time, entitled "D'eux" which was released in 1994. It sold over 4.4 million copies in France, alone and became France's best-selling album. In addition, she has five number-one songs in France, the second-most of any artist. Her French songs have logged 36 weeks at number-one, a record for a female artist. Since her native language is French, she has been able to become extremely successful in French-speaking nations, particularly in her native Canada.

∙ 11y agoOne thing that she did, although it only showed that she did not like being called an Anglophone was refuse a Félix Award in 1990 for her first English album Unison.
This probably does not show it either, but when she performs in Francophone countries she performs a different setlist composed mainly of French songs of hers.
